SOUTHBAY COUNTRY CLUB

This new facility will provide a resort experience within an established residential neighborhood. Its design embraces a variety of outdoor spaces which range from a great formal lawn, an intensely lush native landscape area, a busy recreational pool, cafe terraces, and a quiet meditative lap pool area.

The building is a blend of both the traditional resort, and a contemporary outlook towards spatial quality and formal dynamics. The massing scheme is made up of several curving and rectilinear forms united by a series of broad and sweeping promenade. The fluidity of these roof forms combined with the depth of their overhang create a floating poetic quality. The walls are a rusticated stucco, while the forms themselves are modern.

The layout of spaces within the building maximize the relationship between the interior and the landscape, while dramatic sequential courtyards provides a symbolic linkage of all the most important interior functions, thus uniting the entire project.
